Our Founder's Story
Ankara Notes was founded in 2016 by Temi Fajobi, with the aims of connecting people to the beautiful continent of Africa and bringing brightness, joy and inspiration to their lives. The company grew out of her love for crafting and creating unique and personalised cards and gifts for friends and family. Since then Temi has put much love into making many unique artisan products for people to enjoy and continues to do so.
Her heritage originates in Nigeria, more specifically among the Yoruba people, whose history lies in the art of storytelling. In Yoruba communities, passing on of knowledge and tribal history was done through oral storytelling. Temi hopes to keep this tradition alive through Ankara Notes and build a community that connects, inspires and learns from each other.
